Course: Bible

PK4 Bible curriculum for preschoolers focuses on introducing foundational biblical truths through engaging stories, songs, and activities. It uses visual aids like Flash-a-Cards to tell stories from both the Old and New Testaments, helping children learn about God, Jesus, and key biblical events and characters. The curriculum also incorporates memory verses, hymns, and prayer time to foster a love for God’s Word. Selected Old Testament stories are presented using Old Testament Stories, Series 1 & 2, and New Testament lessons use New Testament Stories, Series 1 & 2.  Holiday Stories teach the events surrounding the first Thanksgiving, the birth of Christ, and the resurrection.

PK4 Bible Activity Book is correlated with the Bible stories taught in the Bible curriculum. These activities are designed to bring Bible truths to mind again during activity time later on in the day. Activities include counting, drawing, comparing, dot-to-dot, and color by number.  Some activities will be used in assembling New Testament and Old Testament story books.

Course: Handwriting

From tracing the letters to writing them on their own, your child will be taught to neatly print letters as they carefully form each “ball” and “stick.” The “houses” with upstairs, downstairs, and basement guide your child in the size and placement of each letter. As they carefully forms letters, they will learn the character qualities of neatness and caring about their work.

In the ABC Writing Tablet and Writing with Phonics, they practice tracing and then writing the lowercase letters of the alphabet and 12 capital letters.  By the end of the year, they are writing blends and words and their own first name.

Curriculum: Abeka

Course: Phonics

Your child will enjoy carefully sequenced activities that will teach them vowels, consonants, blends, one-vowel words, and two-vowel words.  ABC-123 contains brightly-colored exercises that will appeal to 4-year-olds and reinforce their beginning phonics and reading skills.  The Abeka method has produced thousands of successful readers for more than half a century.  Building on this foundation of phonics, by the end of the first semester, your child should be able to write their name, and by second semester, your child will actually be reading little books!

Course: Numbers

Your child will love the numerous counting and coloring activities that teach number concepts and formation of numbers 1–20 and counting up to 100. Adding 1 to a number acquaints them with how numbers work.  By the end of the year, they will be able to count from 1 to 100, recognize numbers 1–20, distinguish before and after numbers, and answer simple combinations. ABC-123 has practice pages that reinforce the concepts and the formation of numbers 1 to 20 by having children count and color familiar objects.

Course: Art

Fun-filled projects all year round to help develop your child’s creativity.  PK4 provides children with bright, colorful projects which include coloring, painting, cutting, and gluing. Practicing these skills will aid in the development of small-muscle coordination.

Course: Physical Education (P.E.)

P.E. is a time to enjoy physical activity, teacher-led exercises, group, and team activities.  Some activities include jump rope, hula hoop, bouncing balls, relay races, and more.  Throughout the year, teachers lead the elementary students in an in-house field day with lots of fun activities: cardboard box races, relay blanket race, red-light/green-light, and more. P.E. helps foster confidence, coordination, teamwork, good sportsmanship, and a love for movement.
